I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the research at USARIEM. I think this program is great for students exploring different pathways in STEM-related careers. My first summer internship with ORISE changed the trajectory of my career. I cannot think of a better opportunity to research and grow alike. You are encouraged, applauded, cared for, mentored and provided with the tools to succeed. My favorite part of this time at USARIEM was absolutely the opportunity to learn in such a warm and welcoming environment. It was the ideal stepping stone between my undergraduate studies and, in my case, medical school, and I am so grateful to have been able to participate in this one-of-a-kind opportunity. Documents should be submitted in a single PDF file in the order listed below.The ORISE program has allowed me an opportunity to experience different facets of research, grow both personally and professionally, and learn new skills that I otherwise would not have learned had I not had this fellowship. Package Submission Your package must be received no later than the specified deadline and ALL PII MUST BE REMOVED (i.e., Social Security Number, Last four digits of SSN, Date of Birth, etc.). Application packages may be submitted prior to earning a warfare qualification however, a warfare qualification must be obtained prior to receiving orders if selected.Have, or will have, completed one operational tour.Officers (O1-O3) within advertised PRD window (accepting waivers).If interested in an Naval Reactors (NR) internship, it is highly recommended to submit a package 12 months prior to your PRD. Officers accepting orders to an internship must agree to remain on active duty for at least a 12 months payback period. Officers selected to an internship program with multiple advertised locations can be assigned to any billet location. Selection is made based on an officer’s sustained superior performance, billet availability, input by Supply Corps Competency Leads, and their PRD. Internship screenings are held twice a year, in the spring and fall. Note: Naval Reactor (NR) internship applications are accepted year, round regardless of PRD.
